EAT! EAT! EAT!

Our family has all been down for the count over the past few days with a stomach bug! (At different times- Thank you, Jesus!) Carter didn't eat much Wednesday and Thursday so therefore, he missed alot of meals and has been trying to make up for them ever since. On Saturday, he ate his breakfast of french toast sticks and sausage at 7:30am. At 9:00am, he ate almost 2 scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. For lunch he ate 1 1/2 pieces of sausage pizza. If you didn't know, have you figured out that Carter loves pork? For dinner, he wasn't too interested in doing more than playing with his spoon so we gave it an hour and offered him his plate again. He ate a few bites of peas, fish sticks, and mandarin oranges but nothing really substantial. We got him ready for bed and he fell asleep without any issues. THEN... at 3 am... our little man was screaming not for his mama and dada but... "EAT! EAT! EAT!" This is how Carter wakes up every morning lately. He is ready for food and he lets us know it! After Courtney cooked Carter his breakfast of french toast sticks and sausage, he was happy! Courtney grabbed the camera to take a picture of him in his pj shirt that was fitting for this time of day. He sat on our bed, eating his breakfast and asking Joe for the "mote" (remote) to watch "t.v." (which is what he likes to do on the weekend mornings in our bed). When we asked him what he wanted to watch (just to see what he would say) his response was... "FOOTBALL!". We didn't know what was funnier... "EAT! EAT! EAT! at 3am? the pajama shirt at 3am? or wanting to watch football? Carter is the most wonderful little man and we are so blessed to have him in our lives... especially for these 3am moments!

"The Farm"

Courtney's Mamaw grew up on "the farm" with her 11 brothers and sisters. Some of Mamaw's siblings and their grown-up children still live on the property. Courtney remembers going to "the farm" to visit and play when she was younger. It was always so much fun to run around and explore with her Mamaw. Since we've been married and Mamaw passed away, we've visited a few times but Carter has never been. Courtney's mom put together a little get-together with the Loy/Derreberry family on Sunday, September 12th at "the farm". It was nice to visit with all of Courtney's relatives that we rarely get to see... and meet new relatives that we've never seen! Carter had so much fun playing by the lake. It made Courtney a nervous wreck that he was just going to jump in the water. He's such a dare devil! We took Carter for a ride on the paddle boat and he absolutley LOVED it! Thanks Grammy for planning a fun day for the family!

Camel Ride with Daddy

Since we had the day off on Labor Day (Monday, September 6th) we decided to take a trip to the Zoo. We were couped up all weekend because Carter had strep throat so this was a wonderful time to have a 3-day weekend. The weather was so comfortable and it was such a perfect morning to be outside. The camel ride is something that we have been wanting to do with Carter so we thought this was a perfect time to do it! Unfortunately, Courtney had the camera on the wrong setting so we didn't get many good shots. We're going to take Carter again sometime and try to get some better pictures. Carter didn't know what to think on the camel. He just seemed excited to be riding around with his daddy!

Seeing "Ge-Ge" is a must when we visit the zoo!

We were so lucky to visit the turtle at feeding time. Carter had a front row seat watching the turtle stand up and "pose". The turtle zoo keeper said that they have records dating the turtle to 130 years old!

Our last stop was to Kid's Cove petting zoo. Carter always loves to see the goats!

Carter now will say "maaaa" at the goats instead of "oof-oof".
